Members of the National Union Central Committee gathered on Thursday evening in the Binyamin region community of Givat Assaf, following the terrorist attack that took place near the community on Thursday morning and in which two Israeli soldiers were murdered.

The National Union Central Committee announced that party chairman Uri Ariel and MK Bezalel Smotrich would stop voting with the coalition until Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu meets several security demands.

Members of the Central Committee demanded that roadblocks return to the roads in Judea and Samaria and that roads be closed to Arab traffic in order to protect the lives of the Jewish residents of the area and prevent the next murder.

In addition, the National Union demanded that the law regulating communities in Judea and Samaria be approved at the upcoming meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Legislation, and that it be brought to a vote in the Knesset even before the "Gideon Sa’ar Law".

The Central Committee decided that as long as these demands are not fully met, the National Union MKs will be unable to continue voting with the coalition.
