Jewish-American comic Sarah Silverman uploaded a post to her instagram account over the weeked in which she congratulated her IDF-soldier nephew on his 19th birthday.
The post shows a picture of her nephew as a baby, alongside another picture taken of him recently in which he is wearing his IDF uniform.
"This baby is now a 19 year old soldier. OY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @adar_abramowitz_silverman I LOVE YOU A ZILLION!" she wrote.
While the post garnered thousands of "likes" and many comments expressing support, like “Mazal Tov!” and “Thank you for protecting Israel,” a fair share of comments were decidedly anti-Israel in nature.
One comment slammed Silverman for supporting her nephew’s “compliance with imperialism and genocide.” Another comment said, “F*** Israel. Free Palestine,” while another said Zionists were “worse than Nazis.”
