Incoming Senegalese Ambassador Talla Fall and Guinean Ambassador Amara Camara on Tuesday will present their Letters of Credence to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at a ceremony in Jerusalem.

Fall and Camara will be their countries' first-ever ambassadors to Israel.

After the ceremony, the two will become non-resident ambassadors to Israel, with Camara working out of Paris and Fall working out of Cairo.

Fall is also Senegal's ambassador to Egypt.

In June, Israel and Senegal agreed to renew ties, and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu returned Israel's ambassador to the African country.

Senegal is a Muslim-majority country and was one of four Security Council members to resubmit the anti-Israel Resolution 2334 for a vote in December, after Egypt withdrewit. The other three countries were New Zealand, Malaysia and Venezuela.

The resolution ultimately passed when the United States, under former President Barack Obama, chose not to veto it as it had done with previous anti-Israel resolutions.

After the resolution passed, Israel recalled its ambassadors to Senegal and New Zealand for consultations and later downgraded its ties with both.

In June 2016, half a century after the Six Day War, Israel and Guinea renewed ties when Netanyahu became the first sitting Israeli Prime Minister in a generation to visit Africa.

On Thursday, Cape Verde announced it would no longer vote against Israel at the United Nations.
