German police commandos raided two apartments in Berlin's neighborhood of Kreuzberg on Wednesday but did not find a Tunisian man suspected of involvement in the deadly truck attack in the city, Reuters reported, citing the Die Welt newspaper.

Investigators raided the apartments because they believed that the suspect, Anis Amri, may have been in one of the two apartments.

Police forces had to overpower a man at one of the apartments, the paper said. It gave no further information.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that German police believe that Amri had at various times used six alternative aliases and three different nationalities.

Some of the aliases he used were variations of his name and he has also claimed Egyptian and Lebanese citizenship.

The terrorist drove a truck into a crowded Christmas market, killing 12 people and injuring 48, including an Israeli citizen. The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

Also on Wednesday, Germany issued a 100,000 euro ($105,000) reward for information which would lead to Amri’s capture.
