The nationalistic crime division of the Judea-Samaria district police recommended on Sunday to bring to trial two now infamous radical leftist activists, following an investigation.

The two activists, Ezra Nawi and Guy Butavia, are members of the organization Ta'ayush.

The two sprang to infamy in January after nationalist activists infiltrated their circles, revealing they admitted to handing over Arabs who wanted to sell land to Jews to the Palestinian Authority (PA) which summarily tortured and executed them - a fact that Nawi openly bragged about in the footage.

Police recommended accusing the two of being connected to crimes and maintaining contacts with foreign agents.

The entire investigation file was transferred to the attorney's office which will determine whether or not to stand them on trial, and what clauses to charge them with.

After the revelation of his activities, Nawi attempted to flee Israel in January but was arrested at Ben-Gurion International Airport. Last month he was revealed as also taking part in conspiring with Arabs to steal Jewish land.

Nawi has served jail time several times in the past, including for assaulting police officers, and also served nearly half a year in jail for statutory rape over his sexual relations with a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in the early 1990s. He was convicted of statutory rape of the 15-year-old in 2011.

He has also been revealed to be a supporter of Hamas.
