Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton vowed Tuesday night to “fight for every vote” after losing the New Hampshire primaries to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
"I want to say, I still love New Hampshire and I always will," Clinton said, in remarks quoted by The Hill.
"Now, we take this campaign to the entire country. We will fight for every vote in every state," she added.
"I know I have some work to do, particularly with young people, but I will repeat again what I said this week: Even if they are not supporting me now, I support them, because I know I've had a blessed life, but I also know what it is like to stumble and fall," continued Clinton.
"Let's remember, Citizen's United, one of the worst Supreme Court decisions in our country's history, was actually a case about a right-wing attack on me and my campaign," she added.
"A right-wing organization took aim at me and ended up damaging our entire economy. So yes, you are not going to fund anybody more committed to aggressive campaign finance reform than me."
Earlier, shortly after it became apparent that Clinton would lose to Sanders, Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook called on supporters to ignore the defeat, not sweat Nevada and South Carolina too much, and look to March.
“The nomination will very likely be won in March, not February, and we believe that Hillary Clinton is well positioned to build a strong -- potentially insurmountable -- delegate lead next month,” Mook said in a memo quoted by CNN.
“For Hillary Clinton and her campaign, the March states represent an opportunity to build a coalition of support that’s as diverse as the Democratic Party itself,” Mook wrote. "Hispanics and African Americans play a critical role in who we are as a party and who we are as a nation. Many of the most delegate-rich states also have some of the largest minority and urban populations -- states like Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Illinois and Florida."
Meanwhile on the Republican side, Donald Trump was projected to win the New Hampshire primaries, with John Kasich coming in second.
