A 40-year-old man, riding a scooter, suffered light injuries on Monday evening when Arabs threw rocks at his car on Menachem Begin Boulevard in Jerusalem, between the Atarot Junction and Ben Zion interchange.

Magen David Adom paramedics who were called to the scene evacuated the victim to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The attack came just hours after a Palestinian Arab terrorist was apprehended as he attempted to stab Jews at the Givat Hamivtar light rail station in north-eastern Jerusalem, near the French Hill neighborhood.

Light rail security personnel were on scene and spotted the terrorist as he attempted to attack, at which point they opened fire and captured him, according to a police statement.

The attempted attack at Givat Hamivtar is a distance of just a few minutes by foot to the bus stop in the French Hill neighborhood where Shalom Yochai Sherki was murdered by an Arab terrorist last month.

The terrorist rammed his car into the stop on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel, inflicting lethal wounds on Sherki and seriously injuring his date, Shira Klein.

Klein's condition has since improved rapidly, and she has been transferred for rehabilitative treatment.

Last week, a 16-year-old Palestinian Arab who had been throwing rocks at security forces near Jenin was shot by IDF forces and moderately wounded.

The attempted terrorist attack came hours after an Israeli was lightly injured at the Huwara checkpoint near Shechem (Nablus) in Samaria, when Arabs threw a firebomb at his car. He managed to jump out of the car in time, preventing serious injuries.
