Turkey and Israel are close to signing an agreement in which Israel would pay compensation to the family members of terror activists killed on board the Mavi Marmara in 2010, according to Channel 10.

Provocative rhetoric by Turkey's prime minister Recep Erdogan – and Israeli replies -- notwithstanding, the countries are close to signing an agreement, the report said.

While the amount of compensation has not been agreed upon yet, three things have been decided, the television channel said.

One, compensation paid by Israel will only reach family members of the people killed aboard the Marmara and no one else.

Two, Turkey will sign a commitment not to sue Israel over the Marmara incident.

Three – if civilian lawsuits are filed by Turkish citizens in the future, the government of Turkey will return the compensation money to Israel.

Turkey reportedly wants Israel to pay $1 million for every person killed, while Israel is offering $100,000.
