British authorities released on Monday Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, from prison, the Palestinian Authority-based Quds Net news agency reported.
The report quoted sources in London who said that the radical Salah was transferred in a police car from the prison in which he was held to the place where he is staying in London.
The report also said that the Arab and Muslim community in London had organized a party for Salah which was attended by a delegation of the Supreme Monitoring Committee of the Arab public in Israel.
Salah was arrested more than two weeks ago after he entered Britain freely and nearly spoke in parliament. Airport police had allowed him to enter the country despite the fact that he has been banned from it.
He was previously arrested and jailed several times in Israel for incitement and assaulting police officers.
On Saturday it was reported that the British Home Office agreed to release Salah after officials verify his intended location while on bail. He also must wear an electronic tag, honor a curfew at night and agreed not speak in public.
Quds Net reported that a discussion regarding the legality of banning Salah from Britain will take place in September.
