A new poll conducted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor has revealed that Israeli consumers trust Israeli-made products.

According to the poll, 72 percent of the respondents said they believe Israeli-made products are as good or better than those produced outside the country.

The poll also found that 75 percent of Israelis believe that buying "blue and white" helps the local economy and lowers unemployment.

The findings of the poll are being used to launch a massive campaign to do exactly that: encourage Israelis to "buy blue and white" and boost the local economy.

According to Tzvia Dori, director of the Domestic Trade Administration at the ministry, some 2,750 new jobs are created with every billion shekels spent on locally-made products.

The new campaign will include establishment of a "Blue and White Headquarters" at the ministry, as well as broadcast commercials and other media promotions.

Educational seminars at elementary, junior and senior high schools as well as a public information campaign will also highlight the benefits of buying locally-made products.
