France and US working on proposal for 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told the UN Security Council on Wednesday that France and the United States are working on a proposal for a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon.

"In recent days, we have worked with our American partners on a temporary ceasefire... of 21 days to allow for negotiations," Barrot told an emergency meeting of the Security Council requested by France.
