Health Minister Yuli Edelstein (Likud) on Saturday night discussed the exit from Israel's current lockdown, saying that some schools may reopen on Tuesday, but restrictions on leaving Israel will continue throughout the coming week.
Israel's current lockdown is set to expire at 7:00a.m. Sunday morning.
In an interview with Kan 11's Hadashot Hashabbat, Edelstein said, "If, until now, I was optimistic about our ability to pass the correct decisions in the government, now I'm less optimistic."
"It could be that we'll reach a situation in which it rests solely on personal responsibility. I am very concerned that with the current statistics and the decisions that we cannot pass, we'll be in a very problematic situation."
Meanwhile, ahead of Sunday's discussion on the lockdown, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will hold a Saturday night meeting on reopening the school system and a pilot program for those who receive the vaccinations.
