621 new coronavirus cases diagnosed in Israel

Health Ministry says 6,102 active cases and 621 new cases of coronavirus.

Israel's Health Ministry on Saturday said that 621 new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed since Friday.

According to the new statistics, there are 6,102 active cases of coronavirus in Israel. Of those, 41 patients are in serious condition, and 23 patients are on ventilators.

On Friday, 441 new cases were diagnosed, following a week-long increase, which peaked on Thursday. In addition, between Thursday and Friday, five more Israelis died of the disease.

On Saturday, a 19-year-old woman became Israel's youngest coronavirus fatality.

Meanwhile, the Knesset's Coronavirus Cabinet is set to discuss the implementation of a new set of restrictions, aiming to stop the rapid rise in the number of infections. The regulations are expected to be approved on Sunday.
