Shirley Lipnik, a resident of Shavei Shomron who was seriously injured in a car accident two weeks ago in which she lost two of her children, regained consciousness on Sunday.
Lipnik, who was hospitalized at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba since the accident, woke up Sunday morning and has since been communicating with those around her.
The Lipnik family car collided with an Arab vehicle that blocked their lane after the driver lost control.
The initial investigation into the accident shows that the Arab vehicle lost control after traveling at a speed far above the legal limit and highly unsuitable to the road conditions, hit a safety railing, bounced into the middle of the road and blocked the Lipnik family vehicle without leaving enough time for it to stop.
Roi, 8, and Uri, 12, were killed in the fatal road accident. His father, Ohad, was lightly injured. His 13-year-old son, Achiya, was seriously injured and another child of the family, a 5-month-old baby was lightly injured.
