Beer Sheva's Soroka Hospital on Friday morning reported an improvement in the condition of the baby who was thrown from a moving vehicle on Thursday.

The infant is conscious and in stable condition, and will not need surgery. However, he will remain under observation in the children's surgical ward.

The baby was treated overnight in the hospital's pediatric intensive care unit.

Hospital social workers will work with the infant and his family.

On Thursday night, the mother was traveling in a relative's car when she threw her infant out the window. The relative noticed her act, stopped the car and retrieved the infant, then called the police. He then took the infant to Soroka Hospital.
