An American tourist has been killed and 10 other people wounded in a stabbing spree by an Arab terrorist in Jaffa.

A number of the victims were severely injured in the attack, including four tourists hospitalized in serious condition. At least one of the wounded tourists is a Russian citizen.

The attacker - identified as a 22-year-old resident of the Palestinian Authority city of Qalqilya in Samaria - struck at three separate locations near the marina, before shot dead by police.

According to police, the terrorist first stabbed 5 people in two separate attacks at the marina itself, before running to a nearby restaurant and stabbing several others inside.

The attack came as US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel Tuesday evening, for the start of an official visit. Biden was in Jaffa at the time of the stabbing, as he was attending an event at the Peres Center for Peace.

It is the third attack in quick succession Tuesday, following a stabbing attack in nearby Petah Tikva, and a shooting attack in Jerusalem.

In the Petah Tikva attack, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed a Jewish man in his late 30s several times, moderately wounding him. But despite his serious injuries the Jewish man fought back, pulled the knife from his own neck and stabbed his attacker to death with it.

In Jerusalem, an Arab terrorist riding a motorbike opened fire on police patrolling near Damascus Gate. He was shot dead after wounding two officers, one seriously.

Earlier on Tuesday, two stabbing attacks were thwarted in the Jerusalem area by alert police.
