The Defense Ministry has provided Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel with additional security detail after the Jewish Home minister received death threats.

In the past few days, Ariel has received threatening messages via his cell phone and a picture of him dressed in a Nazi SS uniform has been circulated on social media sites.

Fearing for his safety, the Agriculture Minister requested and received additional security and guards from the Prime Minister's Office to be deployed to remain by his side day and night.

"The incitement against me has crossed all limits," Ariel said in response. "I filed a complaint with the Knesset officer and I believe and hope it will be investigated quickly and effectively."

"Such vile threats will not deter me and I expect all advocates of democracy to strongly condemn it," he added.

Joining Ariel in receiving additional security detail on Wednesday was Supreme Court Chief Justice Miriam Naor.

The Supreme Court has received intense criticism from nationalist circles in recent weeks following several controversial decisions, including delaying the demolition of terrorists' houses and ordering a 20-year-old synagogue in Givat Ze'ev to be destroyed.

Last month, the Defense Ministry increased security around Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan - also of the Jewish Home party - for unspecified threats against him.
