Last night (Thursday), the Jerusalem police arrested 11 participants in a protest over the death of Ahuvya Sandak at the Chords Bridge in Jerusalem. Among the detainees were a number of minors as young as 14. Hundreds of demonstrators participated in the demonstration; some blocked the entrance to Jerusalem several times.
All detainees were released under various restrictive conditions. One of the detainees refused to sign on the restrictions presented to her as a gesture of protest against police conduct towards demonstrators and will be brought to a magistrate's court in Jerusalem for a hearing in the near future. Representatives from the Honeneu legal aid organization are helping her with her case.
