Sheba Hospital issued a clarification on Monday night, following the publication of the results of a study which found that the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is only partially effective against the Omicron variant.

"The fourth dose restores and even slightly exceeds the protection provided by the third dose. Therefore, even though the vaccine we have today does not provide optimal protection against infection with Omicron, it is right to continue the vaccination campaign for at-risk populations at this time."
