Updated figures from the government Employment Agency reveal that 2,676 people filed as new jobseekers in the last day alone.
During the same period, 4,766 people registered as having returned to work.
There are currently 973,881 people out of work and seeking employment in the country, of whom 625,803 are on unpaid leave.
