Labor and Social Affairs Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) said at the opening of today's cabinet meeting "If Ofer Shelah's initiative persuades Ya'alon, Gantz and Ashkenazi to form a government that relies on the votes of the Joint Arab List, in stark contrast to the promise they gave their voters, then this could be one of the last meetings of the present government.
"A Leftist government that would be supported by the Joint Arab List is disqualified to rule in the light of the fact that the members of the List deny the State of Israel as the state of the Jewish People and its heads and members praise Nasrallah and Samir Kuntar.
"Just a week ago Benny Gantz pledged that he would not form a government relying on votes of the Joint Arab List, and in less than a week he violated his commitment to the public. This is deception and breach of Blue and White's fidelity to their constituency."
