State Comptroller Yosef Shapira is about to begin an examination of the Prime Minister's plane project, the budget of which has doubled in recent years, according to Channel 13 Television.
About five years ago, when the decision was made to purchase a plane for the prime minister and president's international travel, the cost of the project was estimated at 175 million shekels, including security modifications. Today, the cost is estimated at NIS 580 million. The plane was supposed to become operational in 2017 but delays have made the date sometime this year.
