Bahrain's foreign minister, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, told the London-based Arabic-language newspaper Ash-Sharq al-Awsat, Thursday, that reports of a plan for a visit soon by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to the Gulf kingdom were incorrect.

He did not respond to the question of whether there are contacts of any kind between the two countries. A senior Israeli official said two weeks ago that Netanyahu was working to arrange diplomatic relations between Israel and Bahrain, in light of the rapprochement with moderate Arab states, including Oman, which Netanyahu recently visited.
