On Monday morning, five suspects were arrested and an additional eight detained on suspicions of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Among them was a senior public worker involved in matters of kashrut at the chief rabbinate. "Every citizen paid out of his pocket because of this bribery," said a source in the rabbinate.
