Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Ono and member of Israel's Rabbinate, Dr. Ratzon Arussi expressed opposition to the surrogacy law recently passed by the Knesset, in an interview with Israel National News.
"Jewish law opposes permitting surrogacy to lesbians, Rabbi Arussi. "It is not the family unit."
"Jewish law does not recognize the surrogacy for the needs of same-sex couples," Rabbi Arussi added.
