By a margin of 41-35, the Knesset approved, Monday evening, the so-called Mikveh bill.

The bill states that public Mikvaot, baths used for the purpose of ritual immersion, will only follow the guidelines of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. The bill is an effort to cancel the Supreme Court's decision that public Mikvaot must be open for use in all conversions, including conversions through the Reform and Conservative movements that do not completely adhere to Jewish law.
