Poll: PA Arabs Would Vote Barghouti

More than half of Palestinian Authority Arabs would vote for imprisoned terrorist Marwan Barghouti if he were to run for PA Chairman, according to a survey by the Bethlehem-based Maan news. 55% said they would vote Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences in Israel for murder.

Senior members of the ruling Fatah party received low support. Current Fatah head and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has said that he will not run in the next elections, although his term has been extended through repeated delays of the elections.
