The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality has announced that Kaplan St., the home of the Defense Ministry offices in Tel Aviv, will be changed to Pentagon St. for the next two weeks. American Ambassador in Israel Dan Kurtzer said that this gesture shows the U.S. it has friends. The new Pentagon St. saw a terrorist attack itself on August 5th, in which an Arab shot automatic gunfire into a crowd; he wounded eight soldiers, an Israeli civilian, and a Romanian worker. Yesterday, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert announced that Jaffa St., his city\'s main artery, would take on the name New York St. for the next month.
