The Shabbat crisis has ended with an apology from Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The Shas and United Torah Judaism parties protested last night the government\'s double desecration of Shabbat, manifest in the take-off of two El Al flights from New York to Tel Aviv and the Sharon-Peres meeting. At the start of this morning\'s Cabinet session, Sharon apologized for both incidents. He said that he felt his meeting with Peres was critically important, although he understands that it was in \"bad taste.\" He also said that he understands Transportation Minister Sneh\'s decision to allow the flights, but said that he has asked him to consult with him first before making such decisions in the future.
