Vatican scholars are in the preparation stages of an amended version of the New Testament, with changes based on new information revealed in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The scrolls were discovered in the Dead Sea region in 1947. A Dominican monk, one of the leading world experts in the field, told the Italian newspaper La Stampa that an international committee is working on the new version. An official announcement to this effect is expected at the end of this month by Prof. Etienne Nodet, author of The Origins of Christianity. He is one of the few people privy to the changes. The researchers are also preparing a multi-media edition of the new New Testament.
