Excerpts from an American Jewish girl\'s letter to her grandparents in Israel:
\"...Now that we have experienced what we did today [the attack on the World Trade Center] - I feel as though we have a different outlook on what is going on in Israel, and how many people live with this type of fear every day of their lives. When I found out the horrible terror that took place I couldn\'t do anything but break down and cry. The school told us we must go on, must go back to classes and carry on with our day. But it wasn\'t that easy. There was still that little bit of fear left inside that made us not want to learn, rather stay by the TV and watch the news to see if anything else happens. Mrs. [the head of our school] said, \"What, you think the children in Israel sit by the TV all day in school as soon as something happens?!\" ... She made a good point. We must do as y\'all do and carry on. We said Tehillim (Psalms) and we had an assembly, but no matter what we did - that fear was still there. I started to wonder: is this how you feel everyday? Or do you carry on with your day…\"
