A Jerusalem woman was lightly hurt when rocks smashed threw the window of a public bus on the Gilo-Pat route in the south of the capital. The rocks were apparently thrown from the small village of Sharafat, between Gilo and the Teddy Stadium.



Gush Katif and the nearby Jewish communities experienced yet another night of intense warfare last night. Palestinians threw some 70 homemade grenades at an IDF outpost near Rafiach, and fired at another one near Gadid. Two mortar shells blew up near an IDF force in northern Gaza. IDF forces demolished a Palestinian police post that provided protection for the mortar shelling.



Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat will not meet this evening. Palestinian sources said that the meeting would be delayed for a number of days, but Jerusalem officials feel that Arafat is simply not willing to meet with Peres until after his visit to Damascus and Syrian President Assad. Over the objections of many, if not most, Cabinet ministers, Peres continues to insist that he must talk with Arafat about reaching a ceasefire.



Fatah took responsibility for today\'s shooting and light wounding of a 55-year-old Hadera resident in an ambush attack in the Shaked industrial zone in the northern Shomron. The army\'s subsequent search for the attackers was not successful, and in fact two bombs were activated against the pursuing soldiers; two soldiers were lightly wounded.



Five terrorists, including two of Arafat\'s Force 17, were wounded early this morning in a clash initiated by a paratroopers force in Abu Sneineh, Hevron. One of the wounded is the son of a Palestinian cabinet member.
