The Likud Party spokesman said today that Ehud Olmert had folded on his first test. Today's decision to allow 5,000 Jerusalem Arabs to vote in Jerusalem in the upcoming PA elections "is an absolute collapse from the Sharon government's policy on this issue."

"Those that speak so nobly about the 'Sharon legacy' fold on their first test," the spokesman said, "making concessions with nothing in return."

Outgoing Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom (Likud), whose resignation from the government took effect today, said that the decision to allow Jerusalem balloting in the PA election is downright dangerous. "I myself heard Abu Mazen say that he will not be able to disarm Hamas," Shalom told reporters at a press conference today summing up his tenure in the Foreign Ministry.
