The families of the Israeli-Arab suicide terrorist who murdered three in Nahariya yesterday are currently eligible to receive monthly stipends of some 2,800 shekels ($650) each. He was married to two wives, and each one of them may apply for the \"insurance\" payment as a result of his death. The law currently does not distinguish among various causes of death, and even the family of someone who died in the process of killing himself and others is eligible. Similarly, after a terrorist shot and wounded several people at Defense Ministry offices in Tel Aviv last month, he was killed by security forces - and his wife now receives a monthly stipend. The same is true for the wife of an Israeli-Arab terrorist leader of the Islamic Jihad who was killed by Israeli forces.
MK Tzvi Hendel (National Union-Yisrael Beiteinu) told Arutz-7\'s Uzi Baruch today that he had received confirmation from the National Insurance Institute that the above is the case, but plans to take action against it: \"This craziness must be stopped, and I have already begun preparing legislation on the matter. I hope that the Knesset will help expedite this bill. I admit that this is not Israel\'s only problem at this point, but this ridiculous phenomenon must be ended.\"
