Nechemiah Weiss, one of the activists involved in setting up the new communities said that the purpose of the activity was to “uplift the spirits of the Jewish people as a free people building its independence in its own land.”

Fifteen of the new outposts are expected to be on the ground within the next 24 hours. The communities are being set up near Ma’ale Chever and Bat Ayin in Judea, and Adai Ad, Kochav HaShachar, and Talmon in Samaria. Additional outposts are being planned for areas near Bet El, Bet Hagai, and around other more established communities.

The settlement campaign is supported by the head of the Council of Rabbis of Judea and Samaria, Rabbi Dov Lior, the mayor of Kedumim, Daniella Weiss, and the leader of the Women in Green, Nadia Matar.

Nechemiah Weiss said he hopes the outposts will eventually become permanent communities on the Yesha (Judea and Samaria) landscape.

Many of those involved in actually setting up the new communities are young idealists from Judea and Samaria. A young woman explained the reasoning for her efforts: “We are setting up the outposts because this is the land of Israel. This is not a struggle for someone’s individual home. It’s a struggle for areas of our homeland and the land of Israel.”

The woman also explained that many of the outposts would be set up at sites where Jews had been murdered by Arab terrorists.
