The Ministry of Education now recommends that junior high schools and high schools open separate classes for girls for math and the sciences. The Ministry cites recent studies proving that girls who study in all-girls classes do better in these subjects than those who study in mixed-gender classes. Zemirah Mavrech, the Ministry\'s Chief Scientist, also notes that girls who studied separately had better math and science scores than those who studied with boys. The Iron Regional Council decided to adopt this idea two years ago, with positive results.
