The suspects, ranging in age from 19 to 30, were arrested on October 14 for plotting attacks against Dutch politicians and government buildings, according to Reuters News Agency. One of those arrested, 19-year-old Samir Azzouz, once was charged with planning to attack a nuclear facility and government buildings in the Netherlands. A Dutch court acquitted him of the charges last April but sentenced him to three months in jail for illegal possession of weapons.

Five members of the terrorist call acted to purchase weapons, including Kalachnikov (AK-47) rifles, revolvers and explosives.

Dutch authorities did not confirm or deny the report by the television program "Nova," but government prosecutors confirmed they were in a possession of a video statement, which Nova said Azzouz recorded in anticipation that he would die after downing the El Al plane.

Azzouz, one of almost one million Moslems who are roughly six percent of the country’s population, allegedly recruited two Federal Express workers at the Schiphol airport to give him information on the airline's landing and take-off patterns.

Azzouz’s attorney said that he denied the allegations.
