An introductory press conference in Tel Aviv this morning featured the ambassadors to Israel from three countries - India, Mexico and Brazil - that are sending high-level trade delegations to open doors to business with Israel. Ambassador Ramiro Cibrian-Uzal of the European Union, which is also sending a delegation, spoke as well.
Israel Gateway 2005 is being held in conjunction with the Israel Export and Cooperation Institute and the Manufacturers Association of Israel, and with the support of the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the Federations of Israeli Chambers of Commerce.
Business delegations from Argentina, Ukraine, Greece, Turkey, India, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, Mexico, Brazil and others will take part in the event. The United States is sending delegations from Chicago, Los Angeles, Georgia, Maryland and North Carolina.
A total of 23 foreign embassies in Israel are among the presenters at the exhibit’s 45 booths. Bilateral chambers of commerce, trade companies, Israeli and international banks, international insurance companies will also have displays. The event is comprised of global business seminars and a parallel trade exhibition.
Exhibitors at Israel Gateway 2005 will have a chance to promote exports to Israel, meet Israeli investors looking to invest abroad, enhance relationships with Israeli companies active in foreign markets, discover new Israeli initiatives, products and companies in fields such as telecommunications and biotechnology, and more.
Acting Finance Minister Ehud Olmert will address the event, as will the managing-director of Euromed Fund of Italy, Dr. Sandro Bicocchi.
