Hurricane Wilma, another category five storm was expected to hit the southern coast of Florida by the end of the weekend, reported Reuters News Service on Thursday. Wilma was briefly classified on Wednesday as the strongest Atlantic storm on record in terms of barometric pressure. Category five is the highest rating on the Saffir-Simpson scale of intensity.

The hurricane was heading at last report for Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, battering coastal areas with 10-foot tidal surges and 145-mph winds. Authorities in Central America urged tourists and residents in the storm’s path to evacuate.

Residents of Honduras, Cuba and the Florida Keys once again were boarding up stores and homes as they braced for the oncoming storm. Ten people were reported dead after Wilma struck the island of Haiti earlier in the week.

The leading known Kabbalist Rabbi in Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri last week told his followers during the meal following the Yom Kippur fast that another wave of natural disasters will strike the world in the near future.

In a similar statement last month the 104-year-old Sage told a family member the current wave of natural disasters in the world is directly related to the redemption process that will ultimately bring the Messiah.

Rabbi Kaduri urged Jews who live outside Israel to come to Israel “because of impending danger” and quoted from Deuteronomy 4:15, “Be extremely protective of your lives.”
