A special mid-recess Knesset session was held today dealing with unemployment, the closure of PA headquarters in Orient House, and other issues. The Knesset approved the appointments of Center Party MKs Meridor and Milo as ministers in the government. The new agreement between the Likud and the Center Party provides for the entry of the latter into the government; party leader Meridor will serve as Minister without Portfolio responsible for strategic planning, and Roni Milo will be Minister of Regional Cooperation. Prime Minister Sharon told the Knesset today that he has not despaired of including the National Religious Party in the coalition as well. The government already includes 28 ministers - the largest in Israeli history - and the coalition is comprised of 83 Knesset Members (out of 120).
