Two Hevron residents, brothers, were shot by terrorist sniper fire aimed at Beit Schneerson in Hevron on Thursday evening.

Tzvi-El Yehuda [ben Orna] Mushulam, 11, remains in moderate/stable condition in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem. He was shot in his chest. Physicians on Thursday night decided not to operate at this time.

Matan-El [ben Orna] Mushulam, 21, an IDF soldier, was shot in his hand. He underwent emergency surgery during the night to save his injured hand. He is listed in light condition.

The brothers were standing on a balcony of their home when terrorists positioned on the Givat HaShalhevet (Abu Sneineh Hilltop) fired down on them.

IDF forces responded by moving onto the PA-controlled hilltop, destroying two abandoned buildings that were used to launch this and many other shooting attacks. One soldier was lightly wounded in the night’s fighting. PA officials report over a dozen persons were wounded by the IDF retaliatory offensive.

Hevron community leaders continue to blame the government for its failure to take the appropriate action in response to the daily shooting attacks. Community spokesman Noam Arnon called upon Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to order the military retake the hilltop that was given away to the PA in the 1997 Hevron Agreement. Hevron leaders warned that the giving away of the hilltop would one day serve as a vantage point for terrorists to fire down on the Hevron Jewish community. Arnon points out that the shooting attacks are now daily occurrences with terrorists firing at will, at any time of the day or night.

Following the IDF mission during the night, the force pulled out of the area under the PA control.
