More, and in some cases corrected, information has come in regarding the video-linked Solidarity-for-Israel event held in Australia this past Monday night. The special evening, initiated and organized by a group of Jews in Melbourne, featured video links connecting Melbourne, Sydney, and other cities in Australia, with Israel, England, and Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand. Some 2,500 Jews in Melbourne, another 1,000 in Sydney, and hundreds more in several other locations around the globe were treated to video-transmitted speeches by Israeli Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Minister Natan Sharansky, and Jerusalem Mayor Olmert from Israel, as well as by British Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks from London.

The overriding message of the evening was, \"You, the Jews in Israel, are not and will never be alone in your fight for the land of Israel.\" Other features of the precisely-timed event included video-transmitted messages by schoolchildren in several areas and the recitation of prayers for Israel and its soldiers. In addition, Arnold and Frimet Roth, whose daughter Malka Chana was killed in the Sbarro murders two weeks ago, addressed the trans-oceanic viewers; the family immigrated to Israel from Australia in 1988.
