The 40 armed terrorists said they did not use violence while staging their demand to join the PA police force. They raided the PA office in Rafiah, a terror-infested city straddling the Egyptian-Israeli border, at the same time that Abu Mazen was in Jordan promising to stop violence.

After a meeting with the Fatah Central Committee, the first in five years, Abu Mazen said the PA is "completely prepared to take responsibility for Gaza after the planned Israeli withdrawal and evacuation of Jewish residents this summer.” The meeting’s participants included exiled terrorists who refuse to negotiate with Israel.

Meanwhile, Arab terrorists exploded a bomb Saturday near Israeli troops patrolling in Gush Katif and shot at several IDF positions. Terrorists also fired several mortar shells on Gush Katif communities. No one was injured in any of the incidents, except one terrorist who suffered wounds from an IDF shell fired at him as he tried to plant a bomb.
