At about midnight last night, soldiers of the elite ‘Egoz’ unit ambushed three Arab terrorists, apparently Fatah members, who were in the process of laying a roadside bomb near the Jewish town of Shavei Shomron in Samaria, killing two of them. The third escaped back into territory under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority.
Following the incident, the IDF notified PA officials that the two bodies would be returned in the morning, but that, until then, the PA was to prevent anyone from approaching the area of the incident. However, within two hours, three armed Arabs were spotted in the same location. IDF soldiers immediately opened fire, killing all of them.
During the morning hours today, bomb squad technicians worked to neutralize the bomb that the terrorists were in the process of setting.
