A new regular Egged bus line in Jerusalem will be launched this week to Mt. of Olives. A statement by Egged noted the efforts of MK Yaakov Lantzman (United Torah Judaism) to this end. The thrice-daily line will begin in Geulah, travel through Meah She\'arim to Mt. of Olives, where it will wait for a half hour, and will then make its way back to Geulah via the Western Wall. Egged will allocate bullet-proof buses for the route, with the hope that the ancient Mt. of Olives cemetery will once again become a central site for prayer and visits.

Public transportation to Rachel\'s Tomb is not quite at the same level. One bus a day leaves from the old Central Bus Station at 9 AM, and returns a short while later. However, the Eishet Chayil and Yesh Sachar Lef\'ulotech Foundations subsidize round-trip rides on bulletproof buses six times a day from the Gilo intersection between 9 and 11:30 AM. For information, call (+972-2) 643-2165. In addition, a Breslover organization called Nachalei Artzeinu runs a low-cost trip every night at midnight, leaving from Geulah to the tombs of Rachel, Jesse, and Ruth, as well as the Machpelah Cave (tel. 627-4748).
