Shimon (Steve) Bloomberg, whose wife Techiya was killed in an Arab shooting attack two weeks ago, is still hospitalized with severe injuries to his legs. Their eldest daughter Tzippy, 14, is paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the same attack. Four children who were not physically hurt - Noam, 13, Shira, 11, Yisrael, 8, and Haggai, 6 - anxiously await their father\'s return. \"His injuries are many,\" writes Steve\'s friend Michael Lessans, \"and the rehabilitation he faces before he can return home to care for his broken family is a long one.\"
Despite all that he has gone through in the past two weeks, Shimon sounded hopeful while talking with Arutz-7\'s Haggai Segal this morning. When asked how he was, he said, \"Slowly, we will overcome, with G-d\'s help; there is yet a long way…\" He was reunited with his injured daughter yesterday for first time since the attack. \"The doctors are checking us,\" he said, \"but in general, I sense some optimism.\" Steve emphasized that the members \"of my yishuv [town] in Ginot Shomron are making tremendous efforts to help out with the four children at home, and in other ways.\"
Lessans wrote that Techiya was a \"veritable institution in Ginot Shomron;\" she served as a nurse there for 12 years. The community asks for prayers on behalf of Steve (Shimon David ben Chana Gittel), Techiya\'s and Steve\'s daughter Tzipora (bat Techiya) and their neighbor Matan (ben Michal) Tzur, who was also wounded in the same attack.
