Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visited two of the wounded from the Sbarro restaurant blast in the Bikur Cholim Hospital in Jerusalem this afternoon. The two are Chaya Schijveschuurder, who lost both her parents and three of her seven siblings in the suicide terrorist attack, and Noam Amar. Arutz-7 has learned that although 15 people were killed in the attack, many more lives would likely have been lost - had the owner of the restaurant not gone to the trouble and expense of taking extra precautions beforehand. Following the collapse of the Versailles wedding hall three months ago, city inspectors made the rounds of public buildings. In the case of Sbarro, the inspectors informed the owner that his building technically met all the requirements, but that it might be advisable for him to install extra supporting pillars. Even after he learned that the cost of the extra columns would be $110,000, he decided to go ahead with it. After the fatal blast, engineers told him that his actions had prevented the building from collapsing further, thus saving the lives of possibly 50 other people in the restaurant at the time.
