An Arab taxi driver was killed yesterday and six Arab passengers were injured when their vehicle overturned near Tapuach Junction in the Shomron. The injured passengers told police that a rock was thrown at their taxi from a passing Jewish vehicle, striking the driver and causing him to lose control. However, the accident occurred in a spot where Arabs frequently throw stones at Jewish motorists, including only shortly before yesterday\'s fatal crash. Police therefore do not rule out the possibility that it was Arabs who threw the rock.

The carnage did not end at the crash site, however. A gunfight by rival Arab gangs at the hospital in Shechem over whether or not to allow the media to photograph the body of the taxi driver claimed four additional lives. One of the dead was a senior official in the PA\'s ministry for religious affairs, who served in the past in one of the PA\'s security forces.

Eight Fatah terrorists were wounded over the course of last night in two mysterious explosions in Hevron. One of them is reported to have been seriously hurt, and another is in moderate condition. Predictably, the PA accused Israel of attempted liquidations, as the terrorists were wounded while using cellular phones. In the past, Israel has often countered such accusations by either acknowledging its need to defend itself against terrorism, maintaining that the victims themselves caused the casualties while engaged in preparations for terrorist activities, or by not commenting. Regarding the latest incident, Israel has so far chosen the third option.
