Following Wednesday's convergence of between 50,000 to 80,000 people in Gush Katif for events in solidarity with the area's Jewish residents, some 20,000 supporters arrived this morning in the northern Samaria community of Homesh for today's solidarity events. The towns of Homesh, Sanur, Kadim and Ganim are slated for removal under the Disengagement Plan.

Officials involved in today's solidarity event in Homesh report a convoy of 200 cars is making its way to northern Shomron from the Golan Heights. Knesset Member Prof. Aryeh Eldad (National Union) is marching with supporters from Sanur to Homesh. MK Eldad and his wife recently moved to Sanur from their previous home in Kfar Adumim, east of Jerusalem.

Ten days ago, residents and supporters of the northern Sanur took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new neighborhood. Kiryat Arba's Chief Rabbi Dov Lior was on hand, stating that the true response to the threat of the Disengagement is continued building in the Land of Israel.

In other solidarity activities this week, more than 1,500 Chassidim of the Chabad Lubavitch sect visited the Jewish towns and villages of northern Samaria on Monday. The tour of the Chabad Chassidim included visits to Sanur and Homesh. Residents of the communities prepared informational packets detailing the dangers that are expected to result from the implementation of Disengagement in northern Samaria.
