The elite police unit “Gidonim” terminated the command of Nasr Abu Zaida yesterday, who headed the terrorist cell responsible for the brutal, July 24th murder of 18-year-old Uri Gushtzin, from Pisgat Zeev, Jerusalem. Contrary to what was reported then, Gushtzin met some Arab acquaintances in a central Jerusalem cafe who got him drunk and persuaded him , under false pretenses, to accompany them to inspect an apartment in need of renovations of the kind Gushtzin worked in. They entered an Arab taxi and travelled to El Bireh, where they stabbed and shot him to death. His body turned up the next day in Ramallah. The chief investigator involved in the case, Yitzhak Almog, says that the cell\'s method of operation was to approach Jewish teens and entice them to an area where the murder could be carried out without detection.
The \"Gidonim\" unit spotted Abu Zaida in a stolen vehicle in northern Jerusalem, chased him to the Ramallah area and when he ignored police orders to stop, they shot and killed him. Another suspect is still at large.
Near Tekoa, south of Jerusalem, Israeli security forces apprehended three terrorists who had explosive materials in their possessions. A fourth terrorist was apprehended in Kalkilya, east of Ra\'anana.
